Teaware Quality Control Checklist for Wholesale Buyers
Key points to review before ordering gaiwan, teapot, teacup, tray, and gift-ready teaware sets.
Check function before decoration
A teapot or gaiwan should pour cleanly, feel stable, and match the intended serving style. Decoration and gift packaging matter, but usability comes first for repeat buyers.
Ask for photos, videos, or samples that show pouring, lid fit, cup size, tray drainage, and how the set is packed.
Confirm material and finish
Ceramic, porcelain, glass, clay, bamboo, and metal accessories have different risks. Check glaze finish, color consistency, handle strength, rim smoothness, and whether the product is food-contact suitable.
For hospitality and retail, consistency between pieces is as important as a beautiful sample.
Plan export packing carefully
Breakage risk is one of the biggest teaware sourcing problems. Inner foam, dividers, gift box strength, carton thickness, and drop-test expectations should be discussed before bulk order.
The sample should represent not only the teaware but also the packing method that will protect it during international shipping.
